Please do not wash in the washing machine. We recommend professional cleaning by hand and, for small stains, only cleaning the stain. To remove the stain, dampen a cloth with cold or warm water and dab the area. Be especially careful when spot cleaning your knitted item - do not use soap or rub the area as this can cause matted wool/yarn.
It is always safest to store your knitwear in a drawer or box. However, if you want to hang your knitwear in your wardrobe, we strongly recommend using non-slip hangers with rounded edges. Hangers with sharp edges can snag and puncture the knitwear. In our experience (using the hangers we recommend) we have had no problems hanging our knitwear.
When wearing or trying on the garment, please try not to damage the garment with jewelry, sharp objects or rough surfaces. We recommend not wearing bracelets or jewelry with sharp edges that could get caught in the wool or yarn - but don't worry! Jewelry, such as earrings, that have smooth edges are usually perfectly fine to wear with your knitted item!
Please be aware that when you receive a Merino wool knit, pilling may occur during wear. This is completely natural and is due to the thick, fine and luxurious nature of the unspun wool/yarn. Pilling is loose fibres, shedding or small balls that form as the knit is worn. This may be more likely to occur on the inside of the garment due to friction against clothing.
There are special combs designed to remove pilling. If you don't have one of these combs, we recommend a technique where you slowly twist and pull the pills off. Shaking your knitted item is also a great technique to remove dust and make the knitted item look fresh.
We advise you not to wear the Emsknit knitted garment in rain or snow, unless you protect it from the wet with a coat! If your knitted garment does get caught in the rain, lay it on a flat surface to dry. Do not hang the garment up when it is wet, as the weight of the absorbed water can put pressure on it and cause it to stretch!
The bags can be carried without any problems even in wet or snowy conditions.
